Orlando City prepping for LA Blues double after weekend road ties; other USL Pro news
Orlando City got two draws last weekend on the road: a 2-2 draw with Dayton Dutch Lions on Friday, and a 1-1 draw with Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday.
The Lions dodged a bullet as Charleston Battery lost to Antigua Barracuda FC on Sunday night, 1-0. This means Charleston cannot catch Orlando City, four points down with one game in hand.
Orlando City has their first double on the road with Los Angeles Blues this weekend. They will play at 10:30pm on Friday night, July 6, and at 8pm on Sunday night, July 8. I’m going to see about hosting a watch party for the Sunday game.

Elsewhere in USL Pro…
USL has announced that a USL Pro team will open in Phoenix for 2013. This will coincide with an expected USL Pro team in Tucson that same year. I’ve heard some rumbling that there may be more teams, with Tampa and Boston also allegedly waiting in the wings.
When we come home from Los Angeles, we’ll be bringing the Blues with us. The Blues will be playing their away pair against Antigua Barracuda FC at IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton. The matches will be Thursday, July 12, and Saturday, July 14, both at 4pm.
